Gingival Abscess
Clinical signs and symptoms of gingival abscess include the following:
- confined to marginal gingiva, papilla
- localized
- foreign object
- painful
- rapidly expanding
- fluctuant in 1 – 2 days
- PMN’s, edema, vascular enlargement
Treatment of gingival abscess:
- incision
- clean the area with warm water
- dismiss after bleeding stops
- instruct to rinse with warm water
- scale the area when symptom free
